Civil Air Patrol (CAP), United States Air Force Auxiliary, is a U.S. Congress chartered, volunteer organization created on December 1st, 1941, a week before the attack on Pearl Harbor. It has three missions:
Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education.
Squadron 310 is a cadet squadron based out of Scottsdale Airport. We meet every Monday from 1830 to 2100. The cadets are mentored by adult members, Senior Officers, in leadership, aerospace education, moral leadership, military customs and courtesy, search and rescue, and many other activities. Cadets also have opportunities for 5 orientation flights in powered planes (Cessna 182), and 5 flights in gliders. They learn respect for authority, leadership, and service to others. CAP also emphasized cadets to stay away from drugs and substance abuse. We welcome all young person, male or female, between 12 and 18 to join as cadets. We strongly encourage parents consider memberships in CAP. Our cadets need people from all walks of life as mentors. CAP has a non-discriminatory policy. Men and women over 18 years old, and able to pass a national background check, can join CAP as Senior Officers. There are many training opportunities in a vast array of interests, professions, and abilities: administration, radio operator, aerospace technology, search and rescue, aviation, health professions, teachers, safety, etc. Come to our meetings and we will have a place for you to serve our community, state, and nation.
I pledge to serve faithfully in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program, and that I will attend meetings regularly, participate in unit activities, obey my officers, wear my uniform properly, and advance my education and training rapidly to be of service to my community, state, and nation.
